29 PSP scholars are now high school freshman! Transitioning to high school can be difficult as students have to familiarize themselves with new facilities, classmates, and teachers. Our freshmen are making a strong transition and know they can count on the support of their mentors and PSP if they need academic or personal support. They have all been in high school for around three months now and they’re sharing their thoughts on their transition to high school with us.
“This school year I’d like to earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher. It’s been a new experience and I’m looking forward to visiting colleges with PSP.” – Eduardo V. Lennox
“It is definitely not like in the movies. It’s just like middle school except people are taller and more dramatic.” – Aleah V. Ukiah
“My life revolves entirely around my school. There have been a lot of stressful and intense studying hours, but having a support system like PSP has made everything better.” – Verenice P. Lennox
“Transitioning to high school wasn’t as difficult as others made it seem. High school has been going great! I’m on the cross country team and being a runner on the team makes me happy I am motivated and making new connections with people.” – Karla O. El Monte
